These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Butte Valley Salsa & More website and the food, catering and membership services we provide in Chico, California and across the North State. By using this website or ordering from us, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site or our services.

Our services

Butte Valley Salsa & More is a family-run food business selling handmade salsas, tamales and bean dip at local farmers markets, by party-pack order, and through event catering. Product descriptions on this website are general in nature. Availability of specific items varies from week to week, and what is on the table at the market is always the current answer.

Products, availability and pricing

Prices are not published on this website. Current pricing is available at our booth and on request by phone. Heat levels shown for our salsas are our own guide and a matter of taste, not a specification. Batch sizes, jar sizes and seasonal items change through the year. Catering and party-pack quotes are prepared individually based on your date, location, headcount and selections, and are valid as stated at the time we give them.

Orders, catering and vendor bookings

Large orders, party packs, catering and vendor bookings are confirmed by phone, text, email, or through a form on this website. A booking is only held once we have confirmed it with you directly. Submitting a form is an inquiry, not a confirmed order. We will tell you at the time of booking what, if anything, is required to secure your date. Cancellation and rescheduling terms are agreed with you at the time of booking.

Market attendance

The market days, times and locations shown on this website are published by the markets themselves and are correct to the best of our knowledge. We attend regularly but we cannot guarantee attendance on any specific date — private bookings, weather and market closures all happen. If you are traveling specifically to find us, please check our Facebook page or call ahead.

Membership

The Salsa Club membership benefits are described on our membership page. At the time of writing we are taking founding-member registrations only: registering your interest does not create a contract, does not authorize any payment, and does not oblige you to join. Pricing, start dates and full membership terms will be provided to you before you are asked to commit or pay anything. Once running, memberships have no minimum term and can be changed or cancelled by telling us.

Newsletter and the free bean dip

Our monthly newsletter is free and you can unsubscribe at any time. The free bean dip for new subscribers is limited to one per household, is claimed in person at one of our markets by showing your welcome email, requires no purchase, and has no cash value. We may withdraw or change the offer at any time, but we will honor claims from people who subscribed while it was running.

Food allergies and dietary requirements

We offer vegetarian tamales most weeks and can accommodate many dietary needs when you tell us in advance. Please note that our food is prepared in a single family kitchen, so we cannot guarantee that any item is entirely free from a given allergen, and we do not maintain separate preparation areas. If you have a severe allergy, tell us before you order so we can be honest with you about what we can and cannot guarantee.

Text messaging terms

By providing your phone number to us, you consent to receive calls and text messages from Butte Valley Salsa & More relating to your order, booking or membership. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to unsubscribe at any time, or text HELP to (530) 354-0173 for assistance. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

We work to keep the information here accurate, but we do not warrant that it is complete or current at all times — particularly market schedules, product availability and pricing, which change.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Butte Valley Salsa & More is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of this website. Our liability in connection with any order or booking is limited to the amount you paid for it.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California.

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes take effect when posted on this page, with the "Last updated" date revised accordingly.
