Lighter, still full of flavor

Chicken Tamales

Juicy chicken with authentic Mexican spices — a little lighter than the pork, and just as seasoned.

What it is

Why we make it this way.

Chicken tamales get made badly more often than any other kind, because chicken dries out and bland chicken has nowhere to go. Ours is cooked in its sauce rather than cooked and then sauced, so it stays juicy and it carries the spice all the way through.

Worth knowing

Three things about it.

01

Cooked in the sauce

The chicken goes into the chile sauce while it cooks. That is why it is juicy and why it actually tastes of something.

02

The crowd-pleaser

If you are feeding a mixed group and you do not know what they like, chicken is the safe dozen.

03

Good with mild salsa

Chicken and our Mild Orange is the combination kids will actually finish.

Frequently asked questions.

Are the chicken tamales spicy?

Mildly seasoned rather than hot. The heat comes from whichever salsa you put on it, which is how we would rather do it.

Which is more popular, pork or chicken?

Pork sells fastest, chicken travels best in a mixed order. Most party packs go out with both.

Family owned. Best tamales and salsa in the North State.
